Artist Statement

My practice investigates the intersections of memory, isolation, and the human condition, employing silhouettes as metaphors for the thresholds between presence and absence. Memory, inherently fragile and selective, is as defined by what it omits as by what it retains. My sculptures seek to materialize this duality, presenting forms that embody solitude and introspection.

The theme of loneliness is central to my work, articulated through solitary figures and symbolic objects that evoke both personal and collective histories. These objects serve as vessels of fragmented memory, subtly anchoring the ephemeral nature of human experience to the tangible. By engaging with the language of absence and negative space, I aim to reflect the pervasive yet unspoken dimensions of isolation, exploring it not solely as a state of estrangement but as a catalyst for introspection and self-realization.

Ultimately, my work is an inquiry into how the human experience is shaped by both the presence and absence of connection, challenging conventional narratives of identity and belonging. It endeavors to transform the deeply personal and isolating experience of loneliness into a shared space for reflection and meaning.
